The dust is getting pretty thick now.

Just passed my 16 months since I applied including 8 months of "Administrative Processing" in Moscow with no interview date.

The application has been referred back to DOS (the Department of State) for further clearances. However, nobody will tell me what the clearance we are waiting for is, or why we are waiting. Apparently some agency has put a hold on our application, but I can not find out which agency, why the hold was put on the application, who I can contact about it, how to get the hold lifted, or when it will happen.

This is the most miserable government process I have ever observed.

Whew, Interview finally scheduled after a total of 18 months, 2 days (rescheduled for 2 weeks later for a better time) :D Still no explanation for the extraordinary delay.(last updated 05/22/2004)
